On the prairie of South Dakota, at the foot of the Black Hills, is the Crow Creek Guest Ranch. Every year about 300 to 400 cows with calves walk around this guest farm. You get to know the authentic farming life and help on the farm. Of course you can go horse riding, but you can also participate in a ‘cattle drive’ and learn how to move herds of cattle. For beginners, riding lessons are offered. This small ranch has accommodations for up to four people, making the atmosphere cozy and personal. The best period for a ranch visit is between May and July. If you visit the ranch in autumn, you will spend most of the time in the saddle because the cattle have to be collected.
